Your Weekly Tarot Card Reading Wants You to Look Back at the Past

Your Weekly Tarot Card Reading Wants You to Look Back at the Past

You don’t need to know the difference between a three-card and a Celtic cross spread to get the most out of a tarot card reading. All you need: your Sun sign! Here’s what I do: Shuffle my tarot deck and pull out the cards in order from Aries to Pisces, plus one general card for everyone so that you can get specific advice around your personality. Let’s go!

A GENERAL CARD FOR EVERYONE: SIX OF CUPS

Margie Rischiotto+Rider/Waite

The recent Full Moon has us all feeling reflective. Saturn Retrograde beginning this week gives us all a moment to review big decisions made in 2024 and to adjust the course of action accordingly. The Six of Cups asks you to use lessons from the past to inform your choices right now. In fact, it’s a good idea to check in with people, places, or activities from your past this week. You have so much insight and understanding. Consciously draw it to you and see what it suggests.

ARIES: THE TOWER

The Tower is a powerhouse card. Its energy is irresistible and somewhat destructive, but it’s always pushing us towards our true path. Let things go that no longer serve you. Release outdated ideas or roles. Move on from tasks that don’t mean much to you anymore. Let it all go, Aries, because the Tower is here to help you remove anything that no longer deserves a place in your future plans. Get ruthless. Be direct. Find the courage to say “no.”

TAURUS: THE MOON

You’re in a deeply reflective and analytical mood this week, Taurus. You’re drawing away from the crowd to spend time in solitude, just thinking. Use your intuition. No more research or fact-finding or questioning. Take your knowledge and sit with it. Let your subconscious work it over and piece together new connections or narratives. Something is brewing, and it will reveal a powerful epiphany you can use to make a new, surprising, interesting choice.

GEMINI: KING OF SWORDS

Be rational, logical, and objective about what’s on your plate right now. Discern the important from the urgent. List your priorities. Understand where you need to focus your energy. Be ruthless enough to cut off anything that’s not necessary. The King of Swords will help you make sense of your current situation, focusing on future potential and what will serve you best for longest. It’s time to make some cuts.

CANCER: ACE OF CUPS

A wonderful new love will emerge in your world this week, Cancer. This is a love at first sight, instant chemistry, bonded in a past life kinda vibe, whether romantic or platonic. You will know it when you come across it. Look out for water signs—Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio. It’ll probably be someone creative, charismatic, and easy to talk to. You are all about your relationships, and someone important is going to walk right up to you this week and start a whole new story.

LEO: STRENGTH

strength tarot card

Margie Rischiotto+Rider-Waite

Strength is *your* card in the tarot deck: It represents your internal, innate power. When you’re young, this manifests as self-confidence, courage, and pride. As you get older, it turns to leadership and authority. Even later, this shows up as wisdom, compassion, and mercy. You are always growing, developing, and adding new nuances of strength to your emotional palette. Consider how far you’ve come, the hardships you’ve endured, and the powers you’ve earned as a result. Appreciate yourself for where you are, right now, and know that the best is yet to come!

VIRGO: PAGE OF WANDS

Finish what you start this week, Virgo! You’re not known for chaotic behavior, but chaos can find even the best of us! Hunker down, remove distractions, write your to-do list, and then focus on it. Get everything done on time. Keeping promises stores up credit for later. We all need wriggle room with people, but this is a week to earn it, not use it.

LIBRA: QUEEN OF WANDS

You’re feeling a bit restless, like you’d like to broaden your horizons, see new places, meet different people, and try out different activities. Let loose, Libra. Clear your schedule, go where your interests take you, respond to spontaneous opportunities, and invest time in exploration and experimentation. Life happens when we make other plans, right? So, let life happen this week and go with the flow.

SCORPIO: EIGHT OF CUPS

Control is very important to you. Whatever you’re involved in, you like to be the one leading it. The Eight of Cups reveals that something you thought was going one way is actually heading another. It is a disappointment, but Scorpio, let it be. You can’t wield your power over this any longer, and you need to let it go. No good will come of trying to reclaim it, because it was never yours to start with. This has been a pipe dream. Let it go.

SAGITTARIUS: SIX OF SWORDS

Sometimes the tide recedes and you can see what’s left behind. This has happened, and now you can see the truth of a situation that has been glossed up to look like better or different. You are ready to call it quits. It’s the right moment to walk away, and your mind (and heart) is made up. (Actually, you could’ve done this sooner, but maybe you weren’t ready yet.) You can’t unsee what you’ve seen. It’s time to go.

CAPRICORN: NINE OF PENTACLES

Margie Rischiotto+Rider-Waite

You’re ready to embark on a new long-term goal related to health, wealth, work, or home—all your favorite things. You are an incredibly patient and diligent person, making you well-placed to tackle long-term ambitions and create amazing results. Be inspired and be creative. Use your powerful (and underrated) imagination to visualize a dream that might take up to five years to fulfill. You love five-year plans! You can do this! It all starts here.

AQUARIUS: ACE OF SWORDS

Your astrological symbol is the water-bearer, which represents purity and truth. This is a very apt symbol because you’re innately honest. This week is a great time to tell the truth, reveal something others don’t know, share a story, express an emotion… whatever it is. The traffic won’t be just one way. You will need to hear the other side, too. Having open and transparent conversations makes you tick. Learn something new this week and feel understood at the same time.

PISCES: THE WORLD

Big movements are happening in your world this week, Pisces. A chapter is ending and you’re nearing your goal… it’s almost here. Celebrate and acknowledge your progress. And what then? Start something new. Begin a new chapter that reflects what you want to learn, understand, or take on next. The World is a powerful card of endings leading to new beginnings, and that’s your energy right now.
